Daytripper The Book

Introducing Daytripper: 60 Days on the Road Exploring America’s National Parks, a woman-written thoughtfully-designed coffee table book inspired by Luna Volta’s founder Kayla Clements stint of #vanlife. Kayla spent the summer of 2017 exploring, camping, and hiking through nine states and twelve of America’s National Parks. During the trip, Kayla reconnected to the land, to the beauty found in solitude with nature, and to the healing properties of regenerative agriculture and hemp. It became her mission to learn how to contribute to a brighter future and Luna Volta was born.

Daytripper: 60 Days on the Road Exploring America’s National Parks is:

  • 7.5" x 9.5" softcover with silver foil

  • 150+ full-color pages

  • Printed on recycled paper

  • Printed locally, ethically & small-batch in Los Angeles, CA

  • Donation to support protection of our National Parks *All proceeds during the month of January will go to WIRES Wildlife Emergency Fund to help protect the animals affected by the Australian bushfires*

"Stories include our car’s set-up, what gear we packed, how we set-up camp each evening, favorite (& most eventful) hikes, animal sightings, etc. I aimed to share not only the photographs, but the experiences from the day hikes where we struggled to get to the trail end. The hikes presented challenges and the lessons learned became profound. This is my story in hopes it inspires you to creates yours." - Kayla Clements

Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.

Intention Setting:

“The beginning of 2020 has left me feeling a bit numb with the state of our planet Earth. If anything, these devastating fires across Australia show just how fragile our Earth is. I know that we can make the biggest impact if we start small. So for 2020, I am setting intentions around my health so I can continue to better serve myself, my community, Luna Volta, and our world at large.

Physical Health: I am considering running a half marathon this year and like to cross train to keep my endurance and flexibility up. Currently I am participating in p.volve’s Summit 60 challenge and mixing in yoga, running, and spinning classes. I am using our Spectra - Recovery roll-on post-workout to improve my recovery time.

Nutrition: I will be spending more time in the kitchen this year cooking myself healthy, hearty plant-based meals. If we restructure our food industry by taking a circular, whole systems approach, we can grow organically and regenerate our soils at the same time. A good resource for local, organic produce: Farm Fresh to You (Save $15 on your first box with the code KAYL4771) and to learn more about soil health: Kiss the Ground.

Mental Health: Daily meditation. I try to sit for ten minutes a day to re-center and clear my energy. I use the app Headspace for guided meditations. I am using our premium wellness hemp oil NOVA daily to bring my mind + body back into balance.

Spiritual Health: I am a big fan of Modern Women’s moon workbooks. I am using their Many Moons 2020 Lunar Planner to organize my work to-dos and also to follow along with significant lunar events each month.“

-Kayla Clements, Founder of Luna Volta
